I love this truth or dare ask game, but having learned my lesson, I will ask the authors I like directly. :)
Tag whomever you like or are curious about.
I am curious so here are my questions. My "dare" in case you dislike answering will be a story for one of my favourite pairings. ;)
🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction? 🥑 ⇢ you accidentally killed somebody, which mutual(s) do you text for help? 🐇 ⇢ do you prefer writing original characters, reader inserts, or a mix of both? 🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings 🍬 ⇢ post an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character 🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project? ❄️ ⇢ what's your dream theme/plot for a fic, and who would write it best? 🍦 ⇢ name three good things about a character you hate 🪲 ⇢ add 50 words to your current wip and share the paragraph here ☁️ ⇢ what made you choose your username? 🎨 ⇢ link your favourite piece of fanart and explain why you like it 🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?
Writing your favorite pairings? Don't get greedy girl, I basically just gave you romantic garden sex! (Also you KNOW I will answer anything because I love that and I love procrastinating) 😂
🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction?
Just like that. I don't remember how I got into it back in the 90s, but in 2020, I got into it because I liked some Emralt stories so much, I thought, "Hey, maybe I can do that, too."
🥑 ⇢ you accidentally killed somebody, which mutual(s) do you text for help?
Probably @deagle. She'll know what to do because she's seen it in a movie with Sabin Tambrea 😂
🐇 ⇢ do you prefer writing original characters, reader inserts, or a mix of both?
Weeeeeell. Might be one of my OCs is a tiny bit like myself. But in general, I don't do reader inserts a lot.
🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings
I'm convinced Buck didn't tell Tommy about the sperm donor thingy yet, and it will become a major issue between them for whatever reason.
🍬 ⇢ post an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character
I still think his bachelor party behavior was absolutely out of character for Eddie. I know the fandom theories, but I disagree.
🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
Maybe the kind of injuries you get from either falling of a certain height and from being shot with a .45
❄️ ⇢ what's your dream theme/plot for a fic, and who would write it best?
I will fail you... still obsessed with the song, so I'd love to see the topic of the seemingly infallible fail to rescue their loved one. Not necessarily resulting in MCD, though. Don't care which pairing, don't care who'd write it. It's juicy.
🍦 ⇢ name three good things about a character you hate
Listen, I don't hate characters. That's stupid, they're not real. I admire writers of any kind if they make me feel things about a character, even if it's repulsion. But wait, we have Gerrard in the coming season. Nobody likes Gerrard... are there 3 good things about him? Let's see. He's old, so he might just die soon. He screams at Buck, that might get him in trouble. He's jealous, so he might make a mistake. I think those are good things 😂
🪲 ⇢ add 50 words to your current wip and share the paragraph here
Yes, ma'am! Not edited.
“Who killed my father, Pablo? Was that you?”
Carlos pushed himself away from the car’s wreckage and fixed Pablo with his gaze.
"Me? Oh boy, I don't cross the border so easily these days, you know? And certainly not to get some old guy out of the way. I've got my men for that.“
☁️ ⇢ what made you choose your username?
I love Dick. Philip K. Dick, that is 😂
🎨 ⇢ link your favourite piece of fanart and explain why you like it
There are so many, you know I love all the fanart I ever commissioned or got as a present. But today, I'd like to say this piece by @johix (sorry, if you don't want me to put it directly in a post please tell me!) I just love it.
Tumblr media
🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?
Usually, two breaks after a paragraph throughout the whole fic. Or when the fic turns out differently than expected, because I often don't read tags and I rarely read things like MPREG and stuff.
THANK YOU! This was fun. I'll throw the same questions right back at you.

Think fast!
1, 2, 4, 5, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14
It's Molniya! Thank you! I've been wanting to do this for a while!
Are there any in-sys friend groups that wouldn't happen in canon, but make sense to you?
It's me and Clockwork. Where we're from, we'd be on opposite sides of a war.
2. What source do you have the most fictives from?
It's a tie between Project Guardmaid (a story that Katja is writing) (where I'm from!) and Mobile Suit Gundam. I guess all of us are OCs.
4. Who has the coolest name in your opinion?
To be honest, I think it might be me. It's a mispronunciation of the Russian word for lightning, but I like it a lot. A close second is Rust. Very charming, very simple.
5. What's your favorite thing about your source?
Probably the magic. It's a blessing and a curse. You can do so much.
9. What's a quote or lyric that reminds you of yourself?
To be honest, I could give you a rather intense answer, or I could give you an equally intense answer with a fair helping of introspection. I'm giving you both.
One is from Unjust Depths. I'm no pilot, but something about it really speaks to me.
"Interred in a tomb of steel, the rangefinders and cameras became her eyes. And the guns were the only hands she had, and shooting was the only touch she had left."
Another is from a clicker game called ALTER EGO. One of the characters analyzes you based on how you tell a story(I believe that's how it went), and the last part of her read on us resonated with me very well. I'll post the whole analysis because it also painfully accurate, but I'll highlight the part I'm talking about.
"Deny stable values / Pure Self-Denial.
You must truly hate yourself. With the ability for deep self-analysis, it's so easy to find things to loathe about yourself. You're very pure and connected to your own inquisitive nature. You've never forgotten what it is to be a child, and you tend to thoroughly investigate whatever catches your fancy. You're both incredibly pure, and awfully dangerous. Never fear. There's a place for you here."
11. Who's your best friend in-sys? Would your sources be friends, do you think?
It's Clockwork. Again, we'd be killing each other in an always-war. But once it ended... maybe. Probably. It took me a long time to see automatons as people, but I got there. Earlier than most of my kind, really. Most automatons are more human than any of us ever were. I remember dancing with someone like her post-war, in an underwater manufacturing plant turned university. Huge ballroom, glass ceiling just 30 feet below the surface at low tide. It was beautiful, the way the waves twisted the sunlight down upon us. I traded partners with some officer and this blank-faced automaton girl took my hand. Her voice was lilty and robotic, which was... very strange, considering that most every other automaton I've ever met spoke just like any human would. Great dancer. I think we danced 3 separate times that night. I don't remember much else. Was that her? Probably not.
I've gotten way off topic. I felt like sharing.
12. Do you miss anyone from your source?
Laika, my... lover? She was so cocky and it drove me insane. Gaia's most charming vehicle mechanic. I hope she's doing okay. I hope our daughter is doing okay.
13. What do you look like in the head? How does that compare to your source? The body?
I look almost the same, lithe and toned. Shoulder length silver hair(It's kind of swoopy!) and dull red eyes. Although I dress a lot more informally up here than I did where I'm from. No uniforms. Skinny jeans and long sleeve shirts mostly. Turtlenecks too. Sometimes I wear a plate carrier. Occasionally. Body armor is like a bulletproof hug. It's comforting.
14. What's your favorite song?
Psycho Dreams - Kill Eva

OMG ANOTHER MAO MAO OC x CANON SHIFTER!!! I LOVE YOU!!! No fr i'm like addicted to Mao Mao and have been since it came out- if you dont mind, could you share more and your oc and like your lore?? Im just craving any mao mao content i can get!!!! -fosforflower
Hi!!! OMG Thank you SO SO much for the support! I'm always happy to talk about my oc and ship. This is what I have so far:
Regarding my OC:
Her name is Lambina Woolington. She is a sheep girl who moves to Pure Heart Valley to escape the boring life of her old town. But she also needs time away from her overly attached parents (more on those two in the future) who don't know how to give her space. She is kind hearted with a quirky personality, but can also be seen as "strange" or "odd" to some.
Mao Mao tends to not really like Lambina initially, finding her rather annoying and strange, even going far as to judging her based on his own bias. But this bias mainly stems from the contrast of their relationships with their parents. While Lambina gets WAY too much love an affection from her parents to the point where she needs her own space, Mao Mao would to anything to win that same love from his neglectful father. It's because of this that he sees the sheep as "ungrateful" for what she has, even though that is not the case. He later learns that just because someone is strange or different doesn't mean that they are a bad person and to not judge someone based on these differences. He also learns that his opinion is not fact and that not everyone will view things the same way as him, as Badgerclops and Adorabat have no problem with Lambina. Even the King has taken a liking to her!
Regarding the OC x Canon Ship:
I ship Lambina with King Snugglemagne (the ship name is Snugglelamb)! Why you may ask? Well, tbh, I've always liked the King despite his issues. And I had this headcanon of him crying due to having no heir to the throne and therefore wanting to settle down with someone. But you can't rush love that way, and that's the lesson that the King has to learn. When he meets and falls for Lambina, it's not just to have an heir to the throne. It's legitimately because he loves her, she being the first person that he truly loves more than himself (and his mother).
Also, someone like Mao Mao would NEVER expect the King to fall for a simple awkward sheep girl. But love works in mysterious ways. Do you know what Lion x Sheep equals? DIVERSITY!! It's something that you wouldn't expect and yet, here it is. Mao Mao questions why the King has eyes on this particular girl to which the King replies that she has some sort of "Je ne sais quoi". Though he initially doesn't have the courage to ask her out due to having what he calls the "Royal Butterflies". Meanwhile, Lambina doesn't think that she is good enough to date royalty, especially considering that no one has ever wanted to date her in the past. But the two eventually get past these insecurities and start a relationship.
I also think that Lambina would be good emotional support for the King whenever he needs it. And they would cuddle a lot too!!!
Eventually, they get married and have a daughter, Princess Purity (more on her in the future)
Again, thank you SO much for reaching out to me! I hope we can talk again in the future. I love talking about Mao Mao related stuff.

Fanfic ask game - L and M!
L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
After I finish a chapter. I self edit two to three times than I send it to my sister to read. She'll correct my grammar. After her feedback I edit again. Send it to her to re-read. And then if I'm feeling paranoid I'll read through it incase I need to edit a second time.
After posting I tend to ignore it for a while, writing the other chapters til I decide to read through it again and it more than often results in me editing it here and there.
M: Got any premises on the back burner that you'd care to share?
I'm assuming I answered the question incorrectly last time which is my bad. I'll tell the stories and ideas I've thought about but done nothing with nor do I think I ever will do anything with. And for fun and it make it easy on others I'll give everything names.
The Fraggers!: LOL So Lobo, New 52 Lobo, Sheba (who I think was supposed to take Lobo's spot in New 52 before they created New 25 Lobo), Slobo from Young Justice, Crush/Xiomara Rojas Lobo's daughter, and my OC Leah (fun fact I created her when I was 11) get forced into an Alien Family Game Show. Sort of like Big Brother except it's families competing other families. Everyone agrees to it because there's this huge cash reward for winning. And everyone in the family likes money to some degree. Crush is lucky to have Slobo because he's the one making sure Lobo doesn't betray everyone. There's supposed to be bonding and fights. The Lobos keep fighting for the name and because they think they know how to handle teenagers better than the other.
Maggie Opal: It's about a young adult girl with an imaginary troll friend/boyfriend named Hank. Our girl basically has schizophrenia and is leaving in a shitty life. People start going missing in her town including our girl's bully so she looks into it. It's played throughout the whole story that magic isn't real. Like the woman kidnapping and killing people is labeled a "Hag" but she's not supposed to be. Until Maggie finds out she's pregnant which makes no sense to her because she's only done sexual things with her imaginary boyfriend. And than plot twist magic is real. Our girl hasn't been imaging anything. Hank is an actual troll. The woman she fought was an actual Hag. Magic just doesn't have a kewl color effect or anything like that. And Maggic never realized the truth because her extension of belief was too strong.
Yandere Boyfriend: A yandere killer becomes obsessed with a detective. So he's been going after and killing criminals that the law's been letting get away due to the lack of evidence, lawyers, or simply because the person has money and power. So our yandere has been playing Dexter, murdering them in the hopes our detective will fall in love with him that way and or to make their life less stressful. Of course the detective will catch on and try to stop the yandere despite believing he's doing the right thing because a crime is a crime. I even thought about the yandere having a pet turtle name Mr. Williams who he talks to about everything.
Demi: It's my demigod college AU story. Like Nicktoons it's gonna be a freak of the week so different stories about different characters at the time. All the characters are somewhere between 18 to 30 years old unless they're a staff member. I guess the premise is "I the writer love mythos and fables."
The last two are connected to my posted fics. One being Hellsing Dracula, which is the story Dracula but what I think the Hellsing's version of it is. Because as much as Hellsing is accurate to Bram Stroker's Dracula, it also isn't. So I figured it would be fun. The second would be a different story of how Shirley and Alucard met. Although I don't think it would be a good read which is why I've done nothing with it. Next would be my altered version of Nicktoon episodes and movies but in my universe. Again never done anything because I think I can explain those events through the Nicktoon series. I guess a fanfic for Dracula vs Hitler being it's my guilty pleasure book but it's too insane to every do anything with. And lastly the Future Hellsing/Blue Exorcist crossover but I need to finish the previous stories before heading to the that one.
Hopefully I answered the question correctly this time lol. I don't know what else to say I don't really come up with themes or messages for stories. At least not before I write them I just pants the stories.

ooh interesting ask meme! maybe "lesson" for sarissa :')
ohhhh this one is good, I've been stewing it in my brain all morning. link to oc ask list here
Tumblr media
I think the first big life lesson she learns has to be connected to her leaving her birth clan. She was very young when her magic showed (7/8, had to double check my notebooks). Her clan already had three mages; she couldn't stay. She was luckier than Minaeve, in that she was sent to Clan Lavellan to train as first under their keeper. She was also lucky to be Dalish, so her magic wasn't a stain or a sin or a punishment; rather, it was a very big responsibility.
I'm stuck between "clan Lavellan was luckily close enough to her birth clan and in need of a First, so it worked out very fortunately" and "the arrangement was worked out at the Arlathven." I'm leaning heavily towards the Arlathven; it would be Sarissa's first wide exposure to Dalish culture as a whole, since it only happens every 10 years and she's still younger than that. Lavellan could have recently lost their own first. Or better, they could've just lost their keeper, and Istimaethoriel is brand spanking new in the role and needs a first, or maybe even a second at the beginning. So Sarissa is here as this terrified, shaking child, clutching at her mother's skirts, and what should be an exciting and illuminating first step into the wider world is actually her send off from everyone she's ever known.
It does end up working out well, though. Isti has no family of his own in my headcanon, and he's a very patient and kind teacher, so they form a very tight bond. She doesn't get to see her parents again; that bond just kind of...disintegrates. She was an only child when she left, but she has no idea if she has siblings out there somewhere. She doesn't even remember her parents' names, since she was so young and only ever called them mom/dad (in elvhen ofc but I don't think there's an elvhen word for dad off the top of my head?). I haven't decided exactly where they are or what's happened to them, but I think that's fitting; just like Sarissa knows she has parents but not where they are or why they never reached back out, I don't have a clear idea for why either.
So, long winded explanation, but I think the first lesson she learned was responsibility. She was chosen, by right of her magic, to bear one of, if not the, most important job any Dalish can undertake. Others always come before herself, because she lives to serve them, keep them safe and keep their stories alive. And that's why she falls into the role of Inquisitor so easily after the mark - she has, once again, been given what seems like a divine sign that she has to serve for others. Her life is not hers, and that might have chafed once in a while, but she has never changed that mindset. Is it healthy? No not at all, but who would I be if I didn't give my beloved OCs pieces of my own trauma? ❤️
Thank you so much for asking this and giving me an excuse to ramble about my fav girl 🥺 this really made me think more about her background in ways I haven't before, and I think it adds a really good layer to her story. Adding one of my latest picrews of her post-Inquisition bc I love her and I need to share her with the whole world.

Hi! I just wanted to say that I've read through your Hau post and am impressed by the amount of detail you've added in; you've done an outstanding work on analyzing his character! I do have one question regarding it, though- who exactly is that "Witch of Disco" in that fight scene? Is she based on an existing character? If not, that's alright; but she does sound pretty!
Have an outstanding week!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA- /V POS
omg omg oh my fucking LORD, anon, your words made me so happyyyyyy ;;w;; Gosh, have the best of months to you too, dearie- you deserve that and so much more HBVCDJFBNFJKFBJN--
Alrighty, alright- as happy as I am receiving your message (like, full on jumping from joy over here, lol), I can't ignore the core question here, soooooooooo-
The Witch of Disco, with an unfettered nature. So far, I'm still working on her name and the intricate details (heck, she might be due a redesign in the near future), but the core idea is that the magical girl she used to be might have been a young lady who was around during the 1970's; an African-American gal who wished to learn more of her roots and spread the gift of knowledge to those around her in new, invigorating ways; especially when considering how much Disco was been influenced by the the African-Americans, Latin-Americans, and those within the LGBTQ+ community who helped skyrocket its popularity.
Of course, there did come judgement from privileged folk who don't seem too keen on anything "tainting" their picture-perfect, clear suburbs with these "indecent" images and "backwards" beliefs. In spite of the passing of the Civil Rights Act in 1964, you bet some assholes were as pissed over sharing their spaces with those different from them as they still are now. Perhaps the witch, due to her desire to learn about her roots to begin with and preserve this very knowledge, was also heavily affected- a freedom fighter in her own way, if you will. I think she witched out while trying to make sure her own family wasn't affected by such hate, but, of course, she could preserve so much knowledge- but she couldn't even prevent the lives of her colleagues and kin slip from her fingers by these pathetic excuses of human beings.
Incredibly, and quite frustratingly, simple concept, I am aware- I will do my best to expand upon her story and even come up with an actual name for her, tho- that's a promise!
I kinda came up with the basic idea of the witch on the spot while writing down the Descent to Despair; initially, I wanted to create a completely unrelated witch related to the dangers of mass-industrialization and just existed as a simple homage to Dr. Eggman's creations from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. As I was in the midst of writing, tho, the theme of Stardust Speedway's bad ending came up, and I was immediately inspired to create a labyrinth that was akin to a busy city full of neon lights, a witch that danced to the beat of that song, and, before I knew it, I was looking up disco dances on YT as reference while I wrote the battle sequence! It was a fun experience; 10/10, would do it again!
I even made quick, albeit basic, picrew mockups of her magi form! God, I can't wait to showcase my list of witch OCs and work on them further ;w;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, I am not African-American myself, so if there's anyone out there who'd like to correct me on what I wrote, or if there's anything that is deemed stereotypical or even harmful present, please, please, PLEASE let me know!!! /srs My aim here is to integrate real-world history and the impact such dire events had on marginalized folk that still persist to this day, so if I ever made a harmful fuckup, do not be afraid to tell me; I'll get to fixing it as soon as I could.

15 Questions 15 Mutuals
@scribe-of-stories thank you for the tag as always!! <3 Check out their post here.
Rules: Answer the questions as yourself or as an OC of your choice @scribe-of-stories answered for both and I think that is an excellent idea.
Ever so gently tagging: @lexiklecksi @macabremoons @mjparkerwriting @ryleswwrites @sabrina-author @scribbledsilver @serafyyn @serenanymph @surroundedbypearls @talesofsorrowandofruin @lyutenw @judemoorigan @frenchywrites @kjscottwrites @dontjudgemeimawriter (and as always lmk if you want to be added or removed from the tag list)
My OC is Isadred/Adris because she is the first person narrator and this tag game seems like a good way to get to know her voice better.
Isadred/Adris's answers will be in plain text; [mine will be between square brackets.]
Are you named after anyone?
For my real name, Isadred, I do not know... Adris was a name I picked on a whim. It appealed to me because it could belong to either a girl or boy and it was a more common-sounding name. I knew a servant boy by that name back at Eiyris, where I grew up.
[My first name is a variant of my paternal grandmother's name and I share my middle name with my maternal grandmother.
Also, a note on Isadred/Adris' names: they are both placeholders and I may change them in a later draft if I come up with something that holds more thematic significance or is an allusion to a Shakespeare character. In the meantime I picked vaguely a Anglo-Saxon sounding name for Adris, and Isadred is a combination of the Germanic sounding "-dred" and the Romantic/Spanish sounding "Isa-" to reflect her status as a princess of a country inspired by Norman England, where the majority population is Anglo-Saxon but the ruling class have foreign, Romantic roots. Interestingly, I have another character in a different WIP named Immadred, going for a similar Anglo-Saxon vibe; Immadred (Ema for short) is one of my oldest OCs, I would say her character concept is around 10 years older than Isadred.]
2. When was the last time you cried?
Knuckles and I spoke earlier and I cried. He gave me some wonderful advice. He also offered to help me off my husband and it felt good to know he has my back--I am going to miss him tremendously.
[uhhh... I don't think I've had a 3am nervous breakdown for at least a week...]
3. Do you have kids?
Oh good grief! Not yet, please.
[No, but one day, many years from now, perhaps I will.]
4. Do you use sarcasm?
No... of course not. That would be quite unbecoming of a royal lady. How horrifying that you would even accuse me of such a thing! (note: this is said in the most obviously sarcastic manner possible.)
[It's practically a love language for me at this point.]
5. What's the first thing you notice about people?
I tend to look first at the way a person stands. I find it reveals much about their intentions.
[I am somewhat face-blind so the first things I notice about a person are their clothes, hair, and if their body language is friendly. I have a friend with heterochromia and I only found out three years into our friendship. I almost never notice eye colour.]
6. What's your eye color?
[redacted - the writer has not given this character an eye colour yet.
I normally say hazel when asked. My eyes are this weird tie-dye mix of grey, dark blue, and harbour-green, with a gold ring like a sunflower around the pupil.]
7. Scary movies or happy endings? Note: movies don't exist in Isadred's world so I am going to change it to ghost stories for her.
Must I choose? I think I would like to hear a ghost story told around a fire by a good friend; if we were all spooked by it and could pull pranks on each other, then even better! But I hope my own story has a happy ending--if anyone ever tells it--and stories like mine too.
[Coraline chilled me to my bones for weeks after I saw it, and though I can appreciate a good movie I have to take the scary ones in small doses. Perhaps if I had a boyfriend I could cling to for the next week (and shove in front of me in the direction of perceived danger) I would enjoy them more. I do like a good happy ending though. Makes me all warm and fuzzy.]
8. Any special talents?
I am a swift rider and absurdly lucky.
[I make better french fries than McDonald's]
9. Where were you born?
Castle Eiyris, the seat of my father, the king's, power in Etlebette.
[On Earth! If you'll believe it! I'm Canadian, but I won't be more specific than that because internet.]
10. What are your hobbies?
Oh, sewing, riding, dancing, hunting, watching tournaments, gossiping about the knights... recently I have found getting on Sorin Heelderick's nerves to be rather amusing.
[Aside from writing and reading (obviously), I play the harp and am working towards my 1st kyu in Aikido (martial art; 1st kyu is the level before Shodan/1st black belt)]
11. Have you any pets?
I have plenty of horses in Etlebette but I could not bring them with me to Arange. Saying goodbye was heartbreaking and I do not know if I will ever see them again.
[two cats, Edyline who is part-burmese and Penelope, a very small-boned tabby.]
12. What sports do you play/have played?
Well, I have already mentioned riding and dancing. Sometimes we play ball games on the lawn. I do some archery but I am feeble-armed and a terrible shot.
[Aikido is my main sport but I have started Wing Chun as a second martial art. I was a decent swimmer years ago but mysteriously stopped (due to undiagnosed chronic illness but I did not know that at the time.)]
13. How tall are you?
I do not know precisely. I am neither tall nor short for a woman.
[5'7]
14. Favorite subject in school?
I cannot say... I found something to intrigue me in everything. If I must choose then maybe studying the scriptures? They teach us what is right and wrong and that resonates strongly with me.
[English. While I was actually in school I liked social studies (history, civics, geography) best but looking back, I think my fondest memories are from AP English and AP Literature and GOD did those courses save my ass in uni. The most important skill I ever took away from high school was how to write a high quality 300 word essay on the spot in 25 minutes tops. Those were also the classes that sparked my interest in writing (as opposed to just daydreaming up stories). One of these days, if I ever publish I might dedicate a book to my teacher.]
15. Dream job?
Oh no. Do not ask me this. If I knew I would not be in this mess, would I? If I could do anything I might enjoy being a spy like Sorin, but perhaps I would find it too grim. I think a little cottage in the woods where I can sew and feed stew to weary travellers sounds wonderful, but I may get bored after a time.
[uhhhh... I really don't know at this point. I have a bunch of WIPs I would like to publish one day but I think I would go crazy if I was a full-time author and had to write on a deadline. In the meantime, I would like a nice cushy civil service job with a 35 hour week and a pension so that I can retire early and write more. It's less about the job and more about the lifestyle tbh.]

oops this started as fun facts and then it was just book lore infodumo so I'm gonna paste the actual fun facts up here and just leave the rest under the cut because I spent a long time typing it and I don't wanna delete it have fun with that ig
she doesn't have siblings but she's really close to her cousin paper circle and they lived with each other since they were around 6 ish
no reason for them to not just be siblings instead in fact they used to be when magic book was first thought of (all the way back in like. 2019 holy shit) I made them cousins because I felt like it and also bc I've experienced this type of thing with my younger cousin and I now need to throw that on my ocs /silly
oh she's most likely gonna be queer not sure in what way yet but yeah 👍 was thinking aspec (she's already automatically ace along with every object in this universe I just remembered, but she can aro too possibly)
she likes try to draw but she's not very good at it so her artist bestie (shell) tries to help her draw
she writes sometimes and she just gives off the vibes of those ao3 notes where it's like "hey guys I'm sorry this chapter took so long and it's so short I was fighting a monster that jumped my friend and we almost died DDDD:"
the pages inside her do kind of explain the things she can do with her magic, but they're limited to what she currently knows so there's blanks everywhere
technically other objects could use that information somehow but she really doesn't like being opened so it's really hard for anyone to read her
oh yeah she has the potential to do a lot of things with magic but she doesn't know how to do it and doesn't really want to know she even draws on blanks sometimes bc she doesn't think they'll ever be filled. this was my way to not make her super op lmao
she hosts an object show which (aoste)is probably one of the worst things she could be doing for reasons I don't know if I should explain yet bc I do want to make that a thing eventually (the dilemma of wanting to spoil everything but also I can't do that grgrgrg)
this part of her was actually inspired by an artfight attack I got from scribbruh but basically I've decided that potions exist where she's from but she cannot comprehend how to make them she keeps trying though she'll get it eventually maybe that is the only magic she doesn't hate doing I don't have an explanation she just likes potions ig
she's from a different place dimension thing than the majority of objects in the show
there's a contestant in that show named origami that despises her and literally every bad thing it does to the other contestants(includes terrorizing them and also knocking one of them into a pool being used for a challenge, which since the object that got launched was electronic electrocuted everyone and they all died) or when they fuck up challenges on purpose are literally just to spite mb. I can't explain why yet but ori has it's reasons to hate mb
other than that another contestant that (spoliers) her contestants generally like her
and in there there's these monster object things that I don't really know how to explain how they exist yet I'm working on that but anyways they're kind of killing all of the normal objects in that place so the objects evolved to have magic to fight them off, but the monsters keep getting stronger and it's a huge problem
oh yeah back to the magic thing fuck it im just gonna explain it it's probably gonna just be blasted all at once if I were to actually make the show anyways which I probably won't bc I never have the ability to make anything ever andways she doesn't like using magic due to some things that happened when she was younger
basically she only exists because her family needed better defense for their village so they collaborated to create a bunch of really powerful objects to help, and then literally every single one failed at what they were created for and/or died or actually escaped in the case of mb and paper circle (her cousin). they literally did this years before too and they didn't learn from their mistakes smh
they trained her every day for one battle which she tried fighting in but she tried using magic that small children really shouldn't be using and she almost died but her aunt saved her and they came to the dimension where aoste takes place where the monster things don't live (or maybe some do. just maybe)
but now her most of her family hates her she knows
these are becoming less of fun facts and more like trauma oops/hj

Oi, Tobione! If you get this message take it as a chance to rant about your OCs, tell us why you love them, why you created them, their tragic past, anything and everything you'd like to share! Go nuts! Then, to continue the love, sent this to other people who need a chance to talk about their characters.
Spread some Akiko love <3
AYYYYYY NEMOOOOOOO 🥺- but what if i wanna spread fukuko love
no jkjkjk, oh man. Akiko. my girl under cut for length!
I doubt I've ever publicy told she's based off of an old, old OC of mine. Her name (which has been picked for that reason) is a reference to it. However she's very much become her own persona by now, of course. 😅 I don't think I need to elaborate her tragic past here, that stuff is pretty much covered in Irenic, so perhaps a tidbit from her history before Irenic: Akiko used to be a rather reserved, almost timid kid. Fukuko took a liking to her since their earliest childhood days and pretty much became the reason Akiko got more extroverted and spoke her mind. It was then she also entered Tajima's sights pretty much, although with each sibling dying, Madara and Izuna were very set on training their remaining ones even harder. Like Fukuko, for her at first everything was a matter of staying alive - until their mother died (and if you read Irenic, you know why 😉).
About the only thing I have in common with Akiko is the sarcasm. I mean. It's just natural. Oh and she hates narutomaki, just like me, lmao. I love Akiko because I feel she's become a complicated, deep character in and by herself just through the story she's going through and the dilemmas she is facing. I love strong female characters, not just for their kickass-abilties, but also everything else that, yanno, makes a character strong. Akiko's faced a lot (and will go through more), she's not one of those characters with a trademark quirk or what you have, but, as I recently told my beta-reader, for some reason, gets under one's skin just as easily.
Oh man. I don't think I can handle praising my own creation more. 😭
I feel like I also should say something about my other characters in Irenic, so here's one piece for everyone:
Gotoku's vigour and insane love for taijutsu had a real life inspiration. (I'm not kidding). Out of everyone in my OC cast, Sato has the most tragic backstory by far. Fukuko intentionally ruffles her short hair to make it look messy. Everyone thinks it's natural, but nope. She's a bit vain.
I'm wondering how many people following me actually still read Irenic, but anyway! This was a lot of fun to do. Thank you so much Nemo, loved sharing this 💖🥰🥰

Our Plurality and Gender
🎵 Something we've been wanting to write about for a while has been how we all have different gender identities, and ways that then reflect on how we see ourselves in general. For example, I see myself as feminine, and enjoy presenting myself as such. No, I'm not hyper-feminine, and some of the stuff I enjoy isn't viewed as generically "feminine" (I like horror and death metal, and am in a noise band), yet still enjoy presenting myself as a woman regardless. I consider womanhood important to me, and ever since coming to terms with being trans, and being given the opportunity to define and be myself, I've come to realize that this was who I always was.
However, being part of a system, especially one where every member sees themselves as people with different views of themselves, means that not everyone has that same view of themselves as I do of myself. So we wanted to take some time to write a tiny bit about ourselves, and what our gender identities mean to all of us, as well as the collective.
📖 As long as I've been in the system I've viewed myself as a girl. There was a time where we weren't aware of just how we worked, so we thought that we were 🎵's imaginary friends. And in an odd way, that helped me recognize immediately who I was. After all, we didn't need to tie our self-images to the body we shared (and for the record still don't), and we were free to see ourselves as, well, ourselves, as soon as we got here.
I see myself as just a bit more feminine, I guess, and have always sort of clung onto the self-image of being a woman. There wasn't really any moments where I felt at odds with my gender, as it wasn't something that I worried about. I just… am feminine, there's no doubt about it. I'm glad that 🎵 has had the chance to see that in herself as well, and that as we've found ourselves, we've learned how similar, as well as how individual, our presentations are.
For example, I wouldn't call myself "hyper-feminine," or 🎵 "butch," though our presentations do sort of contrast a tiny bit in that way. In an example, if we were to choose outfits, she'd likely choose a t-shirt and some comfy pants, whereas lately I've been wanting to wear skirts and even try dresses and such.
Though we're not all that different in terms of gender identity. We both see ourselves as women, and at the end of the day, these are mostly aesthetic differences, our gender identities line up a lot more than they contrast.
🐺 I only recently-ish found out that I'm genderqueer. As a kid I didn't think at all about my gender. I always assumed I as a guy, and just rolled with it. It wasn't until syscovery that I started questioning this notion. While I enjoyed plenty of aspects of being a guy, there were also aspects of being a woman that appealed to me too. While we were discovering other folks in our system, I started talking to one of 🎵's OCs (who also happen to reside here) named Autumn, who presents as genderqueer. They told me that for them they sort of just see it as being all genders, and also none, all at the same time; instead of just subscribing to one gender identity, they just go ahead and employ all of them whenever they want. And that resonated with, and I decided that's what feels best for me as well!
I like showing off how tough I can be at times, and in general find that portion of my self-portrayal as simultaneously masculine, and butch-feminine. I also enjoy changing things up and just allowing myself to be a sweet, cuddly wolfy who just wants to be seen as cute. And I view that as both feminine and fem-boyish at the same time. And I also enjoy presenting myself in ways where gender isn't even a factor, in a way where you wouldn't be able to tell what my gender identity is, because in the end I like being simultaneously all the genders, and also some other thing.
It's especially been liberating letting folks swap around pronouns for me. Like Autumn, I've decided any pronouns work, and it's especially been fun seeing people try different neopronouns for me as well. I think for obvious reasons I also like wolf/wolfself pronouns, though he, she, and they also work just fine :P
🍪 I see myself as a femboy. What that means, is that while I love seeing myself as a man, I don't mind that my presentation is a bit more feminine. What's even weirder, is that in our inner-world I'm actually transmasc.
At times this has caused some mild tension with myself, as I've tried to marry the realities of feeling transmasc and femboyish, while also living with a body that's different than my inner-world body. However, as we've gotten along these past few years, I've decided that I should just be allowed to present myself however I want. There's no rules saying that I can't still feel the way that I do, and it's good and healthy for me to just embrace the seemingly-contradictory nature of my gender identity. Like, yeah, I like being pretty and might even like being in femme clothes every once in a while. The entire time, though, I am 100% a guy, and take pride in this. And whether my inner body is different or not, that doesn't change the rush of euphoria I get whenever I do end up in front, being able to present myself a little bit closer to how I want (even if at least as of now it's still hard for me to break out of my shell, so to speak).
🍎 I guess it's a little harder for me to group myself into the gender binary than a lot of other folks. I don't really see myself as either "man" or "woman," and ended up sort of just identifying as some secret third thing :P
In all seriousness, though, while I wouldn't call myself "genderless," I would definitely say I see myself as outside of the gender binary entirely. You'll likely hear this from a lot of nonbinary folks, including other enbies in our system, but we're just sort of… ourselves. I don't really think a lot about presentation, I tend to just exist as someone who falls outside of all of that. And that's all I can really think of to say on that.
🎵 There are plenty of other folks in our system, and not everyone's able to write about this, understandably. In fact, this post is plenty long already. I just wanted to mention that we do also have some folks who see themselves as purely masculine, others who view themselves as feminine, and still others who present themselves as pretty much anything they want.
The main thing I guess we wanted to write about with all of this, is that even if we share the same body and mind, we can see ourselves as radically different in terms of gender. Hell, it doesn't stop there, we all see ourselves as entirely different people. But we also share this life together, and I think that's amazing. I'm glad to have my headmates with me, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Folklore [song series]
epiphany
Modern Day AU! Bucky Barnes x Natasha Romanoff; Steve Rogers x OC!Reader
Plot: Inspired by Taylor Swift’s new album Folklore. The story follows the timeline of Bucky and Elizabeth’s life throughout the years
[warnings: death]
word count: 3168
Tumblr media
Age: 21 Year: Sep. 2015 Location: Brooklyn, NY
Tumblr media
"So I was thinking, godparents," Bucky spoke up. He and Natasha were currently finishing setting up the baby's nursery in their new apartment.
They had found a nice two bedroom apartment in Brooklyn, much to Natasha's dismay. Bucky thought it was the perfect place to start their new little family. It was also about a 20 to 30 minutes drive to Bucky's work and University campus. His mom and stepdad had even offered to help them out financially for a bit, just as long as Bucky continued on his path to graduate with his Masters in Music Technology in the Spring.
Bucky had managed to finish his bachelor's and masters program in just the span of 4 years, a whole year earlier than originally planned. He was proud of himself, if there's one thing he hadn't screwed up yet, it was his education. He had fully devoted himself to his education the last four years and it clearly paid off. He had also managed to get a good paying job at a studio as an engineer. He had his whole future all planned out, the pregnancy might've been a curve ball at the beginning but with the help of his family and therapist, he was handling it all so well.
"Oh you don't need to worry about the godparents, I have it all figured out already," Natasha tells him as she folds baby clothes, "I picked Abigail and Dylan."
Natasha on the other hand had decided to put her education on hold. Deciding she wanted to be a stay at home mom, Bucky constantly made sure that that's what she wanted. And she insisted every time that she was "made to be a stay at home mom". So Bucky had to reluctantly allow her to make that decision.
Which was one of the reasons why his parents had offered to help out for at least the first year or two, they had known their son was already stressing about finances, and trying to respect Natasha's decision. They figured two years would be a good enough time for the couple to build up their savings.
Bucky didn't like the fact that his parents were helping out with money, but he knew him and Nat wouldn't have been able to make it just on is current income alone. At least not until after he graduated, his boss had already promised a raise once he graduated, but that wasn't until May and the baby was due in the next two weeks.  He promised to pay his parents back every cent they gave him, but they told him to just focus on being a good father.
"Abigail and Dylan?" He questioned.
"Yeah," she shrugged her shoulders.
"The same Abigail and Dylan that showed up to the baby shower high, and proceed to get drunk, because and I quote 'babies are so boring'. That Abigail and Dylan?"
"Come on James, they were just joking, plus baby showers aren't necessarily the most fun thing in the world," she rolled her eyes.
"Can we at least each choose one godparent?" He suggested, "You can have Abigail as the Godmother and I can choose The Godfather."
"Like Sam?"
"No, not Sam. Steve," Bucky tells her.
"Oh, then no," she simply said, turning her back to him to continue putting clothes away.
"What's your problem?" Bucky asks annoyed, finally having enough of her attitude, "This entire pregnancy you've been against everything I've suggested."
"Hey, you got to choose Brooklyn," she turned around pointing her finger at him.
"Yeah because I couldn't fucking afford Manhattan Natasha," he stressed, trying not to raise his voice at her, "You didn't want to know the gender of the baby? Fine. You get to name the baby? Fine. You choose the color scheme of the nursery, fine. You choose the hospital. You choose the apartment. God damn Nat, I haven't done a single thing but pay for everything."
"And I thank-you for that," she rolled her eyes.
"But you don't," he shakes his head in disbelief over her reactions, "You haven't thanked me once. I get that you're carrying our child, and I'm appreciative of that. But god damn Natasha, show me some respect. Show my family some respect!
"You didn't thank my mom, Rebecca, or Keith for everything they've done for you. For us. And I can't keep making up excuses to defend you," he raises his voice a little bit.
"If this relationship is ever going to work, you need to be respectful. You need to stop being so selfish. I get this isn't easy for you, but trust me, this isn't easy for me either. But I agreed to do this. I am stepping up. I want to be a part of my child's life. And I want us to be together and be family," he calms down, "But if you continue to act this way. I won't stay in this relationship."
"You're just going to abandon us?" Natasha asks grabbing her belly, suddenly realizing the reality of the situation.
"No, I won't abandon you both. But we won't be together," he explains, "I will always be in my child's life. I will always be there for them. I'm not going to put my child through the same thing I went through growing up. I promised myself I would never do that."
"So if that means that you and I break up, then so be it Natasha, I'll do it," he tells her, "My child will not grow up in a toxic household."
"Okay," she agrees, tears in her eyes, "I promise I will be better."
"Don't promise me Nat, just show me."
Tumblr media
Two and a half weeks later Bucky found himself rushing an in-labor Natasha to the hospital, it was a quick k10 minute drive from their apartment. He quickly called his mom as the nurses wheeled Natasha away, with Bucky following.
Bucky's mom arrives within the next 10 minutes, as the nurses begin to prep Natasha in her hospital room.
Bucky sent a quick text to Steve and Sam, letting them know it was showtime and that he'll call them once the baby is here.
"How's Mama doing?" The doctor asked while entering the room, quickly taking her spot at the foot of the bed to examine Natasha.
"It hurts," Nat cried, as Bucky tried to soothe her.
"I know, but unfortunately you were too far dilated when you arrived, that it's too late for the epidural," the doctor softly explains, "But the good news is I feel Baby's head, so it's time to go."
Natasha looked over at Bucky, completely scared.
"It's okay," he assured her, "I'm right here. Everything's going to be okay."
He leaned down an placed a soft kiss to her lips, helping her relax a bit.
"Ready?" The doctor looks up at Natasha.
"Yes," Natasha nodded, grabbing a hold of Bucky and his mom's hands on either side of her.
10 minutes later, a soft cry was heard in the room. Bucky quickly glanced over to where the doctor was had finished pulling the baby out.
"Congrats Mommy and Daddy, it's a girl," she announced.
"A girl?" Bucky whispered in awe, tears filling his eyes. He looked over at Natasha, who looked a lot paler in color.
"Nat?" He called out for her.
Her eyes fluttered shut, her limbs went limp, and all the monitors started to go crazy.
The doctor quickly cut the umbilical chord and handed the baby off to an awaiting nurse.
"What's going on?" Bucky panicky asked.
"Get them out," the doctor told a nurse, ignoring Bucky's question.
A nurse quickly escorted Bucky and his mom out of the room.
"She's going to be okay right?" He asked his mom, tears streaming down his face.
"I don't know honey," she honestly said, wrapping her arms around her son. She never thought the first hug they shared after him becoming a father would be like this.
She continued to hold him, soothing him as she made silent prayers pleading for Natasha's safety.
10 minutes later. The same 10 minutes it took for them to arrive to the hospital. The same 10 minutes it took Natasha to bring their daughter into the world, the door opened.
Bucky quickly pulled apart from his mom to see the doctor walking out of the room.
The doctor's face was filled with sorrow. Bucky's mom immediately put her head down, already knowing the outcome.
"How is she?" Bucky asked.
"Mr. Barnes, Natasha had a postpartum hemorrhage, due to issues with her placenta," the doctor carefully explains, "Unfortunately, there was too much blood loss. We weren't able to save her. She died."
Bucky immediately broke down, his mom quickly caught him. The doctor placed a reassuring hand on his back.
He quickly pulled away after a couple of minutes, "The baby. How's the baby?"
"She's good. They took her to get checked just as a safety procedure," the doctor tells him, "She's on the pediatric floor. Would you like to meet her?"
"Yeah," he says, then pauses, "What about Natasha?"
"We can come get you to say goodbye once we get her cleaned," the doctor tells him.
"Okay, thank you," he says.
The doctor takes him and his mom to the pediatric floor. The walk was silent. No one knowing what to say. Bucky was no longer crying, but he felt numb the entire short walk. The doctor knocked quietly on a door, before opening.
"Doctor Monroe, this is Mr. Barnes, the baby's father," the doctor said, before stepping aside to let Bucky in, "Mr. Barnes, I'll have someone come get you when it's time."
"Okay, thank-you," he nodded his head.
"Are you ready to meet your daughter?" Doctor Monroe asked, Bucky nodded his head.
"Meet your Daddy baby girl," the doctor said, gently handing the baby over to Bucky.
Bucky looked down at the small baby in his arms. He was instantly overcome with so many different emotions. The doctor walked out of the room, while Bucky's mom watched from outside threw the window.
"Hi baby girl," he whispered, sniffling back his tears, "You're so beautiful. I'm your dad. And boy am I lucky that you chose me to be your Dad. I always imagined this day would've turned out a lot differently. But life sure knows how to throw some real curveballs."
"Your mom would've loved you," he paused, letting it all sink in. His daughter will have to grow up without a mother. No little girl should have to be without a mom.
"I'm so sorry," he cried, as the baby was lulled to sleep, "I am so sorry your mom won't be able to physically be here. I am so sorry you'll have to grow up without her. No one should have to grow up without a parent. And trust me, I know what that's like. But lucky for us, I had the greatest pleasure of being raised by the most strongest and kindest mother. She taught me everything I know. Your grandma is the best lady you will ever meet. Lucky for us because god knows we're going to be needing her a lot.
"But you and I are incredibly fortunate that we won't ever be alone. We have so many people who care about us. You'll have all the female leadership you can ever need. We can do this," he strongly said to the sleeping baby, "You and I. We can do this. And I promise you this, that no matter what happens, you will always have me. You're stuck with me for the rest of your life. My love for you is greater than anything, anyone I've ever loved. My love for you will always be easy and unconditional. You'll never have to prove your worth to me. You're worth more to me than you can ever possibly imagine. I love you."
Bucky placed a soft kiss to his daughter's forehead. The first kiss he will ever give her, but definitely not the last.
There was a soft knock at the door, he gently called for the person to come in.
His mom quietly opened and closed the door behind her, stepping to her son's side.
"She's beautiful," she smiled down at the little baby.
"She really is," Bucky beamed. He looked over at his mom and noticed she was holding a clipboard, "What's that?"
"Birth certificate," she tells him, "One of the nurses gave it to me. They said there's no rush to fill it out. You have time."
"Here, I can do that," he said gently holding the baby out for her to take.
"Are you sure?" She asked, switching with him.
"Yeah, I have a name anyways."
"What is it?" She looked over at the name written down:
Poppy James Barnes.
[flashback]
After that talk Bucky had with Natasha, he noticed a serious change in her attitude. She was beginning to be more relaxed and more selfless. Bucky felt a tiny weight lifted off his shoulder. Hoping that these changes in her personality would stay.
"So what do you think about James for a boy?" Natasha asked one night, as she and Bucky made dinner together in their small kitchen.
"For a middle name?" He asked confused.
"No, his first name."
"Oh," he paused, "I actually have never liked the idea of giving a child their parents' name. I feel like it doesn't really give them a chance to be their own person. If their parent is successful then they feel the stress of always having to live up to that. And if their parent is crap then they're forever stuck with that reminder of that person."
"That makes sense," she agreed, understanding where he was coming from,
"Then how about James for the middle name. Whether it's a boy or girl."
"I would actually really like that," he smiled at her, "I would like that a lot."
They gathered up their own plates, and sat at their small round table.
"So what other names have you come up with?" Bucky asked her as he took a bite of his chicken.
"Truthfully, I haven't found any good names. All the girls keep making suggestions and they're way too out there," she tells him, "I don't want them to have a name that's too hard to pronounce or spell."
Natasha's phone started to ring, Bucky got up to grab it for her from the living room. By the time he handed it over to her it stopped ringing.
"What kind of flower is that?" He asked her, noticing her phone's Lock Screen background.
"The California Poppy," she tells him.
"Why do you have that as your background?"
"Well my mom was actually from California," she says, "She met my Dad when they both went to Harvard. They fell in love, so she decided to stay out here on the East Coast.
"The only clear memory I have from her was all the stories she used to tell me about poppy season. How the color just made everything so lively. Her parents would take her every season. I remember seeing all the photos of her as a child surrounded by all the flowers. We looked a like as children," she fondly smiled,
"She always talked about taking me to go see them, but she and Dad were always so busy. Then she got sick and there just wasn't a way for us to go. My grandparents tried to get some out here but it was too late. I never did get to see the poppies."
Natasha was silent for a moment, letting what she said sink in. She's never told anyone that story before, the memory would always make her sad. But now sitting here with Bucky, pregnant with their child, for the first time in her life her mother's death didn't bring her such sadness. She could smile at the memory and know she had the utmost best time with her mother, even if it was short lived, she knew her mother loved her. And she can't wait to shower that love onto the baby inside of her, once they were out.
"We should go," Bucky says, "Once the baby is here we should go when it's poppy season. Plus it'd be nice seeing Steve and Liz's life out west."
"Yeah, that sounds nice," her eyes teared up, seeing how generous this man was in front of her, "I'd really love that."
Tumblr media
"Poppy, that's cute," Winifred smiled.
"Yeah, Nat would've loved it."
"They said if you were ready, you can say your goodbyes," she carefully said.
"Okay, you're good with her?"
"Yeah. Do you want me to go with you? The nurses can watch Poppy."
"No. I'd feel much better if she was with family," he tells her, "I'll be fine mom. I can do this."
He gave her a kiss on the cheek before leaving the room.
"Take all the time you need," the nurse told Bucky, as she led him to the room Natasha's body was in.
"Thank you," he quietly said.
She opened the door for him, and he carefully stepped inside.
He walked closer to the body on the bed. He immediately started crying at the sight of her lifeless body.
"God Nat," he cried, "I am so sorry. We never even discussed the possibility of this ever happening. I never even thought of this happening. God I don't know how I am going to ever do this alone. I never imagined myself ever raising a child alone."
He takes a moment to catch his breath.
"She's beautiful Nat, so incredibly beautiful," he tells her, "I wish you would've been able to see her. Hold her. I'm going to make sure she knows everything about you. There's not going to be a day where she doesn't know about her mother."
"When poppy season arrives I'm going to make sure to take her. Every year," he wipes away a tear, "Oh, I also named her Poppy. For you. For your mom. I promise I won't let you down. She's going to have the best life ever. I'll make sure of that. Thank-you for everything you've given me. I truly did love you. Goodbye Natasha." _________________ Age: 22
Location: CA
Year: May 2016
The car comes to a stop, parking in a spot next to a bunch of other cars. Bucky, Liz, and Steve get out of the car. Steve and Liz grab a few things from the trunk, while Bucky gets the smiley baby out of the car seat. Bucky places the baby into the stroller, Steve had gotten out. The three of them began to walk towards the field of poppies.
"Wow, there's a lot this year," Liz says, "Do you want to take her out?"
"Yeah, I'll grab her," Bucky says grabbing Poppy.
He walked ahead of Liz and Steve, taking in the moment with his daughter.
"Look at all the poppies," he whispers to the almost eight month old. She had a huge smile on her face taking in the sight around her.
She was making some babbling sounds, as if to agree with her dad.
The weather was perfect. The sun shining down on them, it wasn't too hot or too cold. Bucky just stared at the flowers, with a peaceful feeling washing over him. The last few months haven't been the easiest, but he was making it. They both were making it. Being here, gave him the reassurance that he was doing good. He could feel Natasha's presence with him there. As if she was silently saying how proud she was of him.
"We're going to be fine," he said to Poppy, placing a kiss on her head.

Hey y'all, Tsuki here~! Boy, I can't wait to watch this week's episode of "Igarashi Family Bathhouse: Everyday Life!", my favorite happy and wholesome family sitcom with you all today! Boy, it sure was sad when Grandpa Giff bit the big one, but his memory lives on through us! Pretty raw deal, huh? But thanks to George, we have No Fear, No Pain any longer! What have you got for us today, Ikki-nii? Dai-chan? Sakura-san?
Okay, enough lyin', it's time for Spoilers, I guess...
-The devil is dead.
-DUCK
-Gamer Vice Bath Water.
-Olteca's in jail, Kagerou's been pacified, Akaishi's dead, and Giff has been exorcised!
-Hooray, bath time!
-Oh yeah, we have this episode and uh...
-Uh oh, we still have Giff cells.
-GIffcels...
-Oh lord, the dominoes.
-...second time?
-I've seem some folks say that Ikki's not exactly the most interesting MC in the world, and while I can concede that's true to an extent (what with him being very reactionary and a huge majority of his faults having been done before, often better with various Riders that came before him), I personally still find him very compelling. He's this vessel through which we get to bond with the Igarashi family, see them as he sees them.
-I think it also helps that he reminds me a lot of a very good friend of mine, and it makes me happy to see him succeed too, so...
-Yeah, these scenes make me tear up.
-Hana-chan, hello! You were badass in Girls Remix yesterday!
-Oh... right, you're going to jail.
-Go visit your girlfriend in jail, Sakura!
-Karizaki ditched everything huh?
-Oh hey, Hiromicchi! And Hikaru-kun!
-Tamaki-kun too!
-Honestly, I'd pay good money to watch a Revice spin-off about all the Demons Driver users sharing an apartment together, arguing over Kamen Rider duty with Hiromi struggling to keep them in line.
-...and just to clarify, this is only a premise for a fanfiction I'm considering, not an actual request to Toei or Bandai, I swear.
-Oh ew, a shitstain.
-Oh right, Weekend's base was the Ushijima house. ...where the hell did it come from then, huh?
-Oooooh, all them Demons bitches are dead.
-Georgy's doing a murder.
-BON
-That's a throwback if I've ever seen one.
-Igarashi Ikki!
-Well, as long as you've learned your lesson, Masao-kun~!
-hjk;lhjlk; VICE GETS NO LOVE
-HANA-SAN
-"Where's the funny!"
-I love how they said that and it immediately hardcuts to Tamaki getting his cheeks clapped.
-Impulse Genome Edge...
-He is Devil Free!
-Juuga!
-It's a pun on Kuuga. With ten ("十" - Juu") animals, most of whom have fangs or tusks ("獣牙" - Juuga). Ten fangs, therefore, Juuga. (十牙)
-Man, Japanese seems like a paradise of puns.
-Karizaki has decided to trash all of his beloved Rider OC designs.
-Seems like a smart idea, yeah.
-He's really gone off the deep end, huh Hiromicchi?
-He looks amazing though.
-...pun partially intended.
-Thank you Lovekov.
-Oh.
-He's treating them as customers.
-Ohhh..
-That's depressing.
-Kentaro Maeda, how're you this good at selling these scenes?
-"I did this all for true peace."
-Guess all his random sinisterness in early episodes really never went away, even with all the insane rewrites and curveballs.
-God, these characters make me feel.
-Daijiiiii, nooooo, we're not playing the blame ourselves game!
-Oh hey, Kagerou.
-Yeah, definitely callous, but... well, he ain't entirely wrong.
-Ohhhhhh, everything's all dark.
-That was a cool shot though, won't lie.
-"Yeah, that science guy's like immortal now."
-Welp. Igarashi Rider fam no more. ...until the time of the movie, that is.
-Will giving up the Drivers even slow down Ikki's memory loss?
-Oooooh, he's really lost it.
-Oh epic, they're teaming up.
-A snake and a bird versus an entire zoo.
-Daaaaamn, his specials are strong.
-Ooooooooh, Amazing name drop.
-George Karizaki, the ten-fanged beast. As human as it gets, down his downright demonic actions.
-Goddamn.
-Hooray, Episode 48! Gonna be entirely honest, I'm just waiting for Revice to be over, I've been here for, like, ever. Not that I don't enjoy watching it with you, it's just that we've been here for so long, and...
-Well, there's this cool fox dude we're gonna meet in September, and um... I believe we have three more confirmed episodes left, soooooo...

Dear JJ,
It took me a lot of strength, courage, and time to write this letter; I was afraid my hand wouldn't be able to write without getting out of control, without getting weak. But here we are and there's no going back now, I offer you an apology if my emotions might be too deep, too overwhelming, I just have to get some things out of my chest.
I don't even know what to tell you, there's just so much... I mean, there are not enough words to describe all the pain, the cocktail of emotions that I carry, But I'll try.
"JJ" you know, your name is like a twisted phrase, before everything it used to cause me joy and excitement, now all I can remember of it is regret and guilt.
When I was little, I used to think that love wasn't real, it just some sort of fake illusion your mind created, now I understand the complexity of the word goes beyond the limits of the ordinary. When people ask me if I liked you, I would always say "no" because I didn't like you, my feelings for you are a little more profound.
I think you deserve an explanation for all my actions during the time we shared this feeling. I wish you could forgive me for forcing things, for getting my hopes up, for misinterpreting the signs, and for suffering all of the above. I forced things that 30 of November, I got my hopes up the day of my birthday party, I misinterpreted the "Could it be me?" from that maths class, I suffered the last day of school, I suffered all the actions Kiara did, I suffered when I accepted the idea that you didn't like me, I suffered the story my cousin told me where you told him that you liked me and I cracked my head thinking "Why?" why would you say that? I suffered during that English presentation when you planted your hand against a wall, placed your face in front of mine, and whispered to my ear a simple order from the teacher.
But I must admit that not everything was bad, I also got happy for other things. I got happy when we talked for the first time, when I borrowed one of your bracelets, when you hugged me while I was crying and you grabbed my face to tell me you believed in me, when you told me "I'm kidding, I care about you" while putting our hands together, whenever I called you "Bob Williams" and you would smile.
I wished you would also ask for my forgiveness when you asked Kiara to touch you in front of me so I would stay away or when you kissed Monica and you couldn't even look me in the eye because you knew it would happen, you even said it out loud. I wished you could explain to me why did you tell my cousin that you liked me and you didn't tell me, or maybe you didn't but then, why would you do that? I think deep down I still know I deserve an explanation, but I'm not gonna ask you for one.
When I saw you today I tried to fool myself thinking I didn't have feelings for you, but I do and it still hurts like hell, it makes me feel miserable as if someone just stabbed me in my heart, it burns. The moment I saw you everything came back in less than a second. I just think that it's so fucking stupid the fact that in so many goddamn months I haven't been able to be over you and I don't know why.
JJ, you're the first person I've ever loved this way and it hurts to admit it, but it's true because I didn't just love your looks, I loved your jokes, your personality, your confidence, your heart because you may be a dumbass, but least you're a dumbass with a big heart and I'm sure that when a girl owns it, she'll be the luckiest girl alive.
I hope that someday when we see each other again, I'll be able to put it all behind me as you've always done, I hope we can laugh, tease, talk to each other; I heard you're going to Yoko's party so maybe you'll dance with me after all, until then I wish you nothing but the best in everything you do.
Sincerely yours
Penelope.

SPENCER
Being late to work is not something that I tend to enjoy. I hate it, in fact. I feel like I'm letting my team down if I'm ever late to round table meetings or if I miss a briefing. But these days, sleep is rare. And if I do sleep, it's not uncommon for me to sleep over the array of alarms I have.
Coffee is a must have for me at all points of the day. No sleep means exhaustion and exhaustion means my brain doesn't work as quickly as it could and that means we don't solve cases and not solving cases means more people die. I can't have more people die on my watch so I drink as much coffee as I can. But the coffee in the bullpen isn't always the best so if I ever have time, I stop at a cafe on my way to work. I take the extra five minutes to walk there before hopping on the metro.
I mumble off my coffee order to the tired looking barista and she scribbles down my name. I hand over a few stray bills to pay and get some change in return, tucking it in my pants pocket. I give a tight lipped smile to the barista before moving to a table in the corner of the cafe, pulling a book out of my messenger bag and starting to read, crossing one of my legs over the other. I don't look up while I wait for the barista to call out my name, not even when two people bump into each other in front of the door or a tourist asks someone else for directions. I just read my book and chew my lip, tapping my fingers against the hardcover.
"Spencer," I hear my name being called and finally allow myself attention to be lifted.
I stand quickly, tucking my book in my bag and closing the flap before heading back to the main counter. But the buckle of my bag gets caught on the button of my sleeve when I try to close my bag all the way. I pull at my sleeve, trying to get the buckle unlooped. But in this tussle with myself, I don't even realize that I'm still walking until I bump right into someone. I move my attention from my bag and catch the person's shoulders so I don't completely knock them over and make not only a fool of myself, but of them too.
"Oh my gosh," I say immediately, my eyes widening, "I'm so sorry,"
"It's okay, it's okay," the girl laughs, her hands squeezing my arms as she regains her balance, “didn’t even fall. You caught me. I didn’t even break a sweat!”
My eyes finally find the girl's face and I'm rendered absolutely speechless. I somehow notice everything about her right away and I memorize her beauty. Her eyes are a bright, beautiful shade of ocean blue and her eyelashes cast shadows over her perfectly pink cheeks. Her hair is wavy and blonde with brown roots, but there's a yellow and blue patterned scarf tied around the front of her head like a folded bandana with pieces pulled out to frame her face. Her nose is small and I can only liken it to a button. Her lips are full and plump and a pretty light pink color and her Cupid's Bow is one that Cupid himself should be jealous of. Both of her ears are full of different types of piercings, and her nose even has a hoop in her right nostril.
She's wearing a light blue knit sweater tucked into a tight denim skirt, along with a pair of short black boots with small heels on them. Her nails are painted white and her fingers are full of rings, each of them different styles and various shades of silver with yellow gems. I notice a tattoo on one of her fingers but she moves and I can't make out what it is. I wonder if she has more tattoos. I find two straps around her shoulders and realize she's wearing a leather backpack, one probably very similar to my own bag. The last thing I notice is the old fashioned camera hanging around her neck, resting just above the waistband of her skirt.
I've seen my fair share of pretty girls. I've seen girls that I wouldn't mind getting to know better. I've met girls that have caught my attention. I've even been in what I believed to be love. But what is this? If I thought I'd seen a beautiful girl before, I clearly hadn't met this girl before. She looks like an angel sent directly from heaven. She looks like she was crafted by God himself and put on this earth to grace mankind with her beauty. Is it fair for one woman to be this beautiful? Is it even possible? I didn’t think that one woman could possess such beauty.
What the hell is wrong with me? I can barely even breathe. I’m just staring at this gorgeous specimen, admiring her smile and trying to memorize the way her fingertips feel on my forearms. I quickly try to think of something to say, another apology for running into her, but I can barely even breathe when I stare at her, much less speak.
"Spencer," the barista calls out my name again, setting my cup down on the counter before walking away. Saved by the barista.
The girl smiles at me and her face lights up, only further illuminating her features. She's got two dimples on her cheeks, bringing out a childlike spirit in her that I pick up right away. "Um," she says with a laugh, "is that yours? You should probably grab it before someone else steals it,"
Okay, Spencer, breathe. You can do this. You’ve spoken to pretty girls before. Sure, it’s hard and it’s scary, but you can do it. Just say words. Preferably, coherent words. Preferably, maybe, a full sentence.
"Right," I finally force out, dropping my hands from her arms. I hadn't realized until now that I was still holding onto her and she was still holding onto me. I reach over and grab my steaming coffee, almost wincing at the heat under my fingertips.
The girl still hasn't moved when I turn back to her, but now she's fiddling with her camera. "Are you," I start to say before hesitating. Her head pops up and she smiles again, letting her camera fall against her stomach. I gulp, shuffling my feet against the floor as I attempt to speak a full sentence. "I didn't mean to bump into you like that,"
"Oh, it's totally fine," she waves her hand at me casually. "I wasn't paying attention either. No harm, no foul. Like I said, I didn’t even break a sweat,” The girl pushes her hair behind her ears and places her hands on her hips. With the confident way she speaks, I almost expect her to keep speaking, but she doesn’t. She just looks at me with the cutest smile, even baring her teeth, waiting for me to say something else.
So I clutch my cup of coffee and swallow thickly. “I-" I hesitate yet again, but when the girl's eyes scream for me to continue, I do. "What's your name?"
She opens her mouth to speak but before she can, another cup of coffee is placed on the counter. "Amelia," the barista announces before walking away.
Amelia laughs, taking a step over to grab her cup, which I immediately notice is tea and not coffee. "Took the words right out of my mouth,"
"Amelia," I repeat as if testing the way the word rolls off my tongue. It tastes sweet. "You heard already, but, um, I'm Spencer,"
"It's nice to meet you," Amelia holds her hand to shake mine, and the panic starts to set in. For a moment, I debate on actually just shaking her hand so I don’t seem like a total freak to this girl that I seem to have a massive crush on. But the prospect of shaking a total strangers hand is repulsive and when I find myself looking at her hand for more than two seconds, I’m starting to count up the amount of germs that would be present there and I have to force myself not to make a face.
So of course, while my hands get clammy and my heart rate speeds up, I do what I do best. I spit out a fact that Amelia didn't ask for. "On average we carry 3,200 bacteria from 150 different species on our hands,"
Amelia's fingers curl into her palm and she retracts her hand, looking down at her palm and smiling just a tiny bit. "You know, I don't blame you for not wanting to shake hands. It is kinda gross anyway,"
"Sorry," I blurt out immediately, still shuffling on my feet. "That was rude of me,"
"It's not rude," Amelia counters, sipping her tea without so much as grimacing at the inevitable heat. "Are you in a rush?" I glance down at my watch and see that I still have ten minutes until I should be getting on the train. I relay this information to her and watch as she smiles again. "Would you like to sit with me then?"
"Oh," my eyes widen slightly and I squeeze my coffee cup so hard that I think I might poke holes in the sides, "y-yeah, sure,"
"Cool," she breathes out, waving me on and leading me to a booth on the other side of the cafe. I'm far too anxious with this situation and by Amelia's beauty and her comfortability around me to even think about relaxing, or drinking my coffee, or taking my bag off from around my shoulder. I definitely can’t remember any of Morgan’s advice on how to chat up girls or any of the conversation starters I’ve memorized for social situations like this. My mind is completely empty, just when I need it to be full and plentiful. How lovely.
Amelia sits across from me and grins, and every time she does, I swear my heart skips a beat and another butterfly breaks through its cocoon in my stomach. "So where are you off to this morning, if you don't mind me asking?"
"Work," I answer, and then realize that's an incredibly vague answer. Amelia raises her eyebrows as she lounges back against the booth, clearly waiting for me to elaborate. "Uh, I work for the FBI, actually. More specifically, the BAU- the Behavioral Analysis Unit,"
"You're a profiler!" Amelia perks up again, sitting up straighter with a huge grin on her face. "That's super cool! My dad is a police officer, sheriff actually, back home in Texas and I'm pretty sure he's worked with the BAU before and he says you guys are awesome. You catch serial killers, right?"
I'm almost stunned by her reaction. Most people don't believe behavioral profiling works, and most people resist the practice, especially local police. But her acceptance of it is incredibly refreshing, and it's welcomed. Honestly, any type of excitement from this Amelia girl is welcomed. It’s a beautiful sight.
I can feel my cheeks turn bright red as I nod, still clutching my coffee cup. "Yeah, we do. And um, what about you?" I hate talking about myself so I change the subject. "Where are you off to?"
"I'm actually meeting a friend of mine to go shopping a few blocks over," Amelia gestures out the window. "But since we're talking about your job, I'll tell you about my way less cool job, which is an artist. I went to Carnegie Mellon and then moved here and I’ve been here ever since. My preference is canvas painting but I bring my camera around a lot, hence," she holds up the camera around her neck, "the camera now. I try to capture spontaneous moments for when I do exhibits and galleries and such,”
"I've always loved art. Never been talented at it, but I like it." I shrug nonchalantly and sip my coffee, trying to divert my eyeline down to the table, but when Amelia smiles at me, I can’t find it in me to break our eye contact.
Something about Amelia's smile brings me in. Every time she flashes her teeth, I feel myself sink further into my seat and I feel my head get fuzzier. I almost forget that I have to get to work in just a few minutes. But I don't want to go anymore. I want to stay here and keep talking to Amelia. I want her to keep going on and on about canvas paintings and her education at Carnegie Mellon, or even just tell me why she likes tea over coffee, if that’s even true. I don’t know anything about this girl but I want to.
"Nobody is technically good at art," Amelia responds. "Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses in the arts, everyone sees art differently, and that's okay. I'm sure you're not horrible, I'm sure you just haven't found your strength yet, Spencer," She enunciates my name with such beauty and grace that I almost ask her to say it again. I'd do anything to hear her say my name again.
"If-" I'm cut off when my phone rings in my pocket, so I lean over and fish it out. I read a text from Garcia that tells me we have a case, meaning we'll be briefing for a new case this morning. I sigh defeatedly, wishing I hadn't just gotten a text that usually piques my interest. Today, it makes my heart drop.
"You have to get to work?" I look back up at work to see yet another smile on Amelia's perfect face. "Go ahead, it's okay," I’m so used to seeing disappointed faces when this text comes in, not a smiling face. It’s odd, somewhat confusing.
I grab my coffee cup and stand as Amelia does the same. She holds her cup to her chest, looking down at her feet. "Will," I chew on the inside of my cheek when she looks up at me, ocean eyes wide with anticipation as I struggle with my words for the umpteenth time, "can I see you again? We barely got to talk and you-"
"Yeah," Amelia nods before I can even finish my sentence. "Can I give you my number?"
I have to hold myself back from jumping up and down in excitement. "Y-Yeah, sure, of course," I pull my phone out yet again as she does the same. She tells me her phone number slowly so I can get it down, but of course, it sticks in my brain immediately.
"Just text me," Amelia murmurs, looking over my shoulder at my phone where my shaky thumbs press against the buttons on my phone to type out- hi, it's Spencer. She waits until her phone rings and then she smiles at me. "Great, I've got it. Now, um, go. Don't let me be the reason you're late in helping people. You don't have to text me if you don't want to," she pauses for a moment, and I wonder what she's waiting for. Is she waiting for me to confirm or deny that statement? Is she waiting for anything at all? Is it an open-ended statement? Where have all my profiling skills gone? Forget profiling- where is my common sense? "But if you do wanna text me," I'm thankful when she starts talking again, "don't until after you've solved your case. Don't worry about me until you've saved lives. But like I said, if you don't wanna text me, you don't have to,"
My phone buzzes again and I can only imagine it's someone from the team asking me where I am, hurrying me along so we can get started on our briefing. I ignore it for now. "Well," I have to clear my throat to be able to speak again. I give Amelia a bashful smile holding up my phone for her to see, "I'll text you when I'm back home,"
Amelia blushes, her bottom lip being pulled between her teeth. She breathes out a tiny laugh, nodding. "I look forward to it, Spencer,"
I take a step towards the door and feel my body grow cold at the distance starting to increase between us. "I'll talk to you soon, Amelia,"
And with that, before I have it in me to take one more look at the angel standing in the corner cafe, I hurry out the front door. There's a dumb smile on my face as I rush down the stairs to the train platform, struggling to swipe my card and respond to Penelope's text at the same time, all while running to catch the train at the platform. I'm somehow successful at all of this and only manage to breathe once I'm inside the stuffy car. Amelia's face is stuck inside my head and I can't get it out, and I'm positive that I never want to.
///
"Reid? Reid!" My head pops up as Morgan forcefully says my name, catching my attention and bringing me out of my daydream.
When I look up at him, he's already staring up at me with his eyebrows raised, clearly expecting an answer out of me about something. I have no idea what that something is, but he’s wanting an answer about it. I clear my throat, placing my cup of terrible police station coffee on the table and running a hand over my face. "Sorry," I apologize half heartedly, "I was thinking,"
Morgan sits across from me at the table and folds his hands. "Case related?" I glance up at him before deciding to completely ignore him, standing and walking up to the board, returning to examining the geographical profile. "Reid, come on, we've been on the case three days. You've been distracted ever since you walked in for the briefing. You can talk to me," I keep ignoring him. I stare at the map in front of me. "Is something going on? Is it your mom?"
"My mom is fine," I spin around and cross my arms over my chest, ignoring the way my heart starts to speed up when Amelia’s face resurfaces in my brain. “Can we just solve this case so we can go home?”
